Landscape Assistant Project Manager Matthew Ward Landscapes is seeking an experienced Landscape Assistant Project Manager to join our team. This is a hands-on, field-based management position that reports directly to the Project Manager and assists with the organization, coordination, quality control, and completion of numerous landscape projects. This is not an entry-level position and is not a role where basic landscape knowledge can be taught from the ground up. Candidates must have previous experience in the landscape industry and a strong working knowledge of landscape construction and installation. Responsibilities Report directly to the Project Manager and assist with the daily management of multiple active job sites. Organize and maintain detailed, itemized job-site to-do lists. Create, review, and coordinate material lists for each project. Coordinate material orders and deliveries to ensure crews receive the correct materials on time. Double-check projects at the beginning, middle, and completion stages to ensure plans, materials, workmanship, and project requirements are being followed. Coordinate daily tasks with Project Managers, crew leaders, employees, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers as needed. Perform job-site inspections and identify problems before they affect the project schedule or finished product. Troubleshoot and help resolve landscape-related problems in the field. Perform manual labor, repairs, troubleshooting, and system checks when necessary. Assist with punch-list work and final project completion. Maintain accurate job paperwork, documentation, material information, and project records. Manage time effectively while overseeing responsibilities across numerous active projects. Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and safe job site. Be responsible for your own safety as well as helping maintain the safety of employees and subcontractors on assigned job sites. Required Landscape Knowledge Candidates must have practical field experience and working knowledge in: Landscape design and plan interpretation Plant material and landscape installation Irrigation installation, operation, troubleshooting, and repair Drainage systems and troubleshooting Landscape and outdoor lighting Grading and site preparation Operation of landscape and construction equipment Material quantities and job-site logistics General landscape construction practices Troubleshooting and repairing landscape systems What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who can walk onto a landscape project, understand what is being installed, identify what needs to be completed, recognize potential problems, and help coordinate the people and materials necessary to keep the project moving. This position requires someone who is organized, dependable, hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking responsibility . You must be willing to work in the field and perform physical work when needed. This is not strictly a supervisory or office position. Strong communication and time-management skills are required, as this position will help coordinate multiple job sites and communicate directly with the Project Manager and field teams.

Requirements:

Previous professional landscape experience Landscape construction/installation experience Strong knowledge of irrigation, drainage, lighting, grading, and landscape installation Equipment operating experience Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently Ability and willingness to perform manual labor when necessary Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Valid driver's license Reliable and professional Ability to communicate effectively with management, crews, vendors, and customers Resume required for consideration Experience is a must for this role. $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
