Role Overview As a Project Manager at TuckerBuild, you will be the driving force behind our commercial construction projects, from initial concept through final walk-through. You will work closely with project owners, stakeholders, and our internal team to ensure that projects are functional, purposeful, creative, and completed on schedule and within budget. Key Responsibilities PLAN:

Pre-Construction & Strategy Collaborate with clients, architects, and engineers during the design phase to understand the project's overall vision. Develop comprehensive project schedules, scopes of work, and accurate budget estimates. Perform value engineering to reduce costs without sacrificing quality, clearly explaining options to the client. Identify potential challenges early ("problem seeking") and develop proactive, creative solutions before ground is broken.

MANAGE:

Coordination & Communication Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining open, transparent, and dependable communication throughout the project lifecycle. Negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors and vendors, ensuring they align with TuckerBuild's standards for quality and attention to detail. Track project financials meticulously, managing budgets, change orders, and payment procedures. Lead project coordination meetings to keep the internal team, subcontractors, and stakeholders aligned.

BUILD:

Execution & Quality Control Maintain a strong onsite presence to drive the project toward quality and keep work on schedule. Ensure all construction activities meet our high standards for bespoke craftsmanship, particularly when working with historic architecture or specialized commercial spaces. Oversee site safety protocols and ensure full compliance with local building codes and regulations. Manage the project close-out and commissioning processes, ensuring the final product exceeds customer needs.

Qualifications & Skills Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of project management experience in commercial construction. Design-build experience is highly preferred.

Local Knowledge:

A strong understanding of the Chattanooga commercial construction market, local codes, and a network of reliable local subcontractors.

Technical Expertise:

Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, BuilderTrend), scheduling tools, and budget tracking.

Leadership:

Proven ability to step in as a leader, make complicated daily decisions, and drive a project forward.

Communication:

Exceptional interpersonal skills. You must be an active listener who takes the time to understand the client's goals and can clearly articulate technical realities to non-technical stakeholders.

Education:
