Position Description Position Summary Summers-Taylor, Inc. is seeking an experienced Hybrid Project Manager / Field Inspector to support heavy highway and roadway construction projects throughout the region. This position combines field inspection responsibilities with project coordination, subcontractor management, traffic control oversight, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will have experience in DOT roadway construction and inspection, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple field operations simultaneously. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage subcontractor commitments, schedules, and daily coordination activities. Monitor and document SCD and subcontractor work items and quantities. Review, track, and maintain material certifications and required project documentation. Track project progress and assist with monthly CPM schedule updates in coordination with the CPM Manager. Verify foreman timecards are coded accurately to bid items and project activities. Review and confirm accuracy of project-related credit card purchases and documentation. Attend EPSC inspections and ensure environmental compliance requirements are maintained. Prepare, monitor, and submit lane closure reports. Coordinate and oversee evening lane closures with subcontractors, crews, inspectors, and traffic control personnel. Monitor waste and borrow pit operations and maintain associated certifications and records. Communicate project updates with owners, consultants, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal management teams. Attend project meetings and maintain accurate project documentation and records. Procure project materials and coordinate equipment needs with the Summers-Taylor shop and operations teams. Identify and resolve field issues to minimize delays and maintain production schedules. Maintain oversight of project quality control and ensure work is completed in accordance with plans and specifications.
