We are seeking a Project Manager / Order Manager to manage our order backlog, keep projects moving on schedule, and serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout order execution. About the Role This is a hands-on coordination and accountability role, managing projects from order kickoff through shipment. You will work closely with engineering, purchasing, production, sales, and leadership to track milestones, identify risks, resolve issues, and keep customers informed.

The right person does more than report project status. They identify what is holding up an order, bring the right people together, establish clear next steps, and follow through until the issue is resolved. Key Responsibilities Manage the backlog and project schedules. Maintain an accurate, current view of active orders, milestones, committed shipment dates, outstanding actions, and schedule risks. Coordinate priorities across internal teams. Coordinate order kickoff and execution. Confirm that project scope, customer requirements, key dates, and responsibilities are understood. Track progress through submittals, customer approvals, purchasing, engineering, fabrication, assembly, testing, and shipment. Identify and resolve issues. Proactively address material shortages, delayed approvals, engineering questions, production constraints, and other obstacles. Assign action owners, track deadlines, and drive issues to closure. Escalate risks early. Bring unresolved issues to the appropriate internal stakeholders with a clear explanation of the impact, available options, and decisions needed. Help establish and track recovery plans when schedules are at risk. Own customer communications. Provide timely progress updates, answer order-status questions, coordinate customer decisions, and communicate schedule changes clearly. Ensure external commitments are aligned with internal capabilities. Manage change orders. Document requested changes and coordinate internal review of scope, pricing, and schedule impacts. Communicate proposals to customers, obtain required approvals, and ensure approved changes are reflected in project records and execution plans. Maintain project records and support closeout. Keep the ERP system and project documentation current, including schedules, correspondence, approvals, and open items. Coordinate shipment readiness and communicate relevant milestones to shipping and accounting. Qualifications Experience in project management, order management, production coordination, or a similar role in a manufacturing environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple active projects with competing priorities. Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to handle difficult customer conversations directly and constructively. A demonstrated ability to coordinate across departments, hold others accountable to commitments, and follow through without constant supervision. Comfort working with ERP systems, spreadsheets, project schedules, and technical documentation. Experience with Odoo is a plus. Experience with switchboards, switchgear, electrical equipment, or other engineered-to-order products is preferred. Candidates should be comfortable working with technical teams; this is not a design engineering position. What Success Looks Like Our backlog is accurate and visible.
