Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator/Assistant Project Manager to join our growing construction team. Responsibilities Prepare detailed electrical estimates by reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and electrical schematics to determine material and labor requirements. Utilize estimating software such as Procore or equivalent tools to develop accurate project budgets and pricing proposals. Conduct thorough review of construction drawings and electrical blueprints, ensuring compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70 standards. Manage cost control efforts by tracking material costs, labor hours, and project expenses throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with clients, contractors, and suppliers through effective negotiation to secure favorable pricing and contract terms. Support project managers in scheduling, resource allocation, and overall construction management activities on electrical projects. Review contracts, change orders, and scope documents to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to project budgets. Assist in electrical system design review, interpretation of electrical schematics, and ensuring all work aligns with electrical building codes. Use tools like Bluebeam for digital markup of drawings, document management, and communication across teams. Ensure all work complies with safety standards such as NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and other relevant regulations. Communicate effectively with clients regarding project scope, timelines, costs, and technical details to foster strong relationships. Experience Proven experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry or related field. Strong understanding of construction drawing review, electrical blueprint reading, and interpretation of electrical schematics. Familiarity with estimating software such as HeavyBid or comparable platforms is highly preferred. Knowledge of electrical systems design, installation practices, and electrical building codes including NEC standards. Construction site experience demonstrating an understanding of field operations and safety protocols is advantageous. Demonstrated ability in cost management, material cost estimating, and budgeting for complex projects. Effective negotiation skills combined with excellent client communication abilities to facilitate successful project outcomes. Prior experience supporting project management functions within a construction or electrical contracting environment is desirable.
