We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Assistant Project Manager to support day-to-day field operations across multiple projects. This role combines light project management responsibilities with hands-on work in the field, including punch list completion, general repairs, construction oversight, and coordination support.
The position will be involved in all phases of the construction process - from pre-closing walkthrough preparation and warranty service work for new homes to ongoing maintenance, repairs, and progress tracking for apartment renovation projects. The role also includes assisting with permitting tasks, site visits, and quality control checks. The ideal candidate has strong residential construction knowledge, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to provide professional, customer-focused service while working independently in occupied and unoccupied homes. Key Responsibilities Field Operations & Project Support Perform regular site visits to monitor construction progress and report status updates. Assist with blue taping, punch list creation, and completion of outstanding items. Identify issues in the field and communicate clearly with project management. Deliver permits, coordinate inspections, and assist with local county processes as needed. Hands-On Repairs & Maintenance Perform general repairs across projects, including drywall, paint, trim, doors, hardware, and minor carpentry. Troubleshoot and address basic mechanical issues (e.g., HVAC, minor electrical, plumbing coordination). Handle general maintenance tasks such as property upkeep, small exterior work, and miscellaneous fixes. Support post-renovation maintenance and repairs for apartment buildings. Pre-Closing & Warranty Work Prepare homes for final walkthroughs and closings by completing punch list items. Respond to homeowner warranty requests in a timely and professional manner. Assess reported issues and complete minor repairs or coordinate subcontractors when necessary. Ensure a high-quality finished product and positive homeowner experience. Coordination & Communication Coordinate with subcontractors for repairs, scheduling, and follow-ups. Maintain clear documentation of work completed, issues identified, and next steps. Communicate timelines, expectations, and updates with homeowners and internal team members. Qualifications 2+ years of residential construction, handyman, or home service experience. Working knowledge of homebuilding systems and finishing trades. Ability to diagnose and resolve construction-related issues. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical field work. Strong organizational and communication skills.
