Type:

full-time A large wet utility company is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support underground utility construction projects within mission-critical data center environments. This role will focus heavily on duct bank construction, which involves installing underground conduit systems used to distribute fiber and power throughout data centers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting self-performed construction work in the field and assisting with project execution from preconstruction through completion. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow into a Project Management role while working alongside experienced PMs on large-scale data center projects. Required Experience 1+ years of experience supporting commercial, industrial, heavy civil, underground utility, or mission-critical construction projects Experience with duct bank construction or underground utility installation Experience assisting with project schedules, budgets, timekeeping, and project documentation Ability to work closely with field crews and support self-perform construction operations Proficiency with: Bluebeam Primavera P6 Microsoft Excel Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment Preferred Experience Background with underground utility contractors such as Quanta, MYR Group, Pike, or similar wet utility contractors Experience supporting data center construction projects OSHA certification or completed

OSHA ET&D

training Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or a related field (not required) Key Responsibilities Assist Project Managers with the successful execution of underground utility and duct bank projects Manage and track preconstruction documentation and project paperwork Monitor project schedules and ensure activities remain on track Support project budgeting, forecasting, and material tracking Review and process timesheets and daily project reports Coordinate labor, equipment, and resources for self-performed work crews Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders when needed Track project progress and provide regular updates to project leadership Assist with identifying project risks, issues, and schedule impacts Maintain accurate project records and construction documentation Support field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget

Schedule:

50-60 hours per week, 6 days per week

Compensation:

$70,000-$95,000
