LP Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project/Program Manager to lead multiple power infrastructure projects across large-scale facilities in the U.S. This role will manage projects from initial feasibility and design through procurement, permitting, installation, commissioning and final handover. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with electrical infrastructure, power generation, utility coordination and large-scale construction projects, combined with excellent project and stakeholder management skills. You will work closely with engineering teams, utilities, contractors, equipment manufacturers, environmental consultants and other stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on schedule and in compliance with technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage multiple concurrent power infrastructure projects from planning through commissioning and handover. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, risk registers and status reports. Coordinate contractors, vendors, consultants, utilities and internal stakeholders. Manage utility upgrades, transformer installations, switchgear deployments and electrical service upgrades. Oversee natural gas and diesel generator projects ranging from approximately 500kW to 5MW. Review electrical designs, single-line diagrams, load calculations and power distribution configurations. Manage switchgear procurement, including specifications, vendor selection, purchase orders, lead times, factory testing and delivery. Coordinate permitting activities for stationary generator installations across multiple jurisdictions. Track permit submissions, regulatory reviews, approvals and potential permitting risks. Ensure electrical systems comply with applicable NEC, NFPA and local electrical codes. Review vendor drawings, equipment submittals and technical deliverables. Identify critical-path issues and proactively develop solutions to prevent schedule delays. Lead equipment startup, testing, commissioning and acceptance activities. Provide regular project updates and executive-level status reports. Travel to project sites during critical installation and commissioning phases.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Energy Systems or a related field. 7+ years of project management experience involving electrical infrastructure, power generation or utility-scale energy projects.
Strong knowledge of:
Medium- and low-voltage switchgear (480V-15kV), Transformers, Natural gas and diesel generators (500kW-5MW), Utility interconnection and service upgrades, Power metering and protection systems Demonstrated ability to manage 10+ concurrent projects. Experience with switchgear procurement and delivery management. Experience with air permitting for stationary power generation equipment. Experience managing contractors, vendors and cross-functional teams. Ability to work effectively under compressed timelines and manage multiple parallel workstreams. Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana or equivalent. Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically.
