In this role, you will oversee custom architectural signage and environmental graphic projects from initial kickoff through to final site installation. You will serve as the central hub of communication, bridging the gap between clients, architects, general contractors, design, engineering, and our internal fabrication and installation teams to deliver complex visual solutions on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities Project Lifecycle Management:
Manage multiple custom signage projects simultaneously from contract award to final closeout.
Technical Review:
Interpret architectural blueprints, site plans, shop drawings, engineering, and finish schedules to ensure fabrication accuracy.
Stakeholder Liaison:
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and general contractors, attending site coordination meetings as needed.
Code & Compliance:
Verify that all designs and installation plans comply with local building codes, municipal zoning ordinances, and ADA guidelines.
Permitting & Engineering:
Oversee the design and engineering review process and coordinate the submission of local sign permit applications.
Timeline Management:
Develop and monitor project schedules, track material procurement, and maintain schedules to hit critical installation milestones.
Financial Oversight:
Track project budgets, manage material and subcontractor procurement costs, issue RFIs, and execute change orders.
Site Operations:
Conduct site surveys, field measurements, and coordinate with internal or subcontracted installation crews.
Required Qualifications Experience:
3-5+ years of dedicated project management experience specifically within the architectural signage, custom fabrication, or commercial construction industry.
Technical Proficiency:
Proven ability to accurately read and interpret construction documents, blueprints, and architectural drawings.
Industry Knowledge:
Deep understanding of sign fabrication materials (metals, acrylics, LEDs) and installation methods.
Code Familiarity:
Strong working knowledge of ADA signage requirements and municipal sign variance processes.
Software Skills:
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel), project management software, and blueprint viewing tools (e.g., Bluebeam).
Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to navigate complex client and contractor dynamics. Preferred Qualifications Experience with specialized sign and construction management software. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
Travel & Work Environment Travel Requirements:
Local travel required for site surveys, field measurements, and installation oversight.
Vehicle Support:
Reliable personal transportation and a valid driver's license required (mileage reimbursement or company vehicle provided).
Work Location:
Based out of our main facility with split time between the office and active project sites.
