Job Description
Traveling Senior Project ManagerPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Traveling Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver complex MEP and mechanical construction projects across multiple regions. The role focuses on overseeing Plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives while maintaining strong client and field relationships. Significant travel to job sites is required to provide hands-on leadership and to coordinate cross-functional teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end delivery of MEP and mechanical construction projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and commissioning.
Travel regularly to active job sites to provide on-site leadership, coordinate subcontractors, perform site inspections, and resolve technical and logistical issues.
Oversee design coordination and integration for Plumbing and HVAC systems, working closely with engineers, architects, and BIM/Revit teams to ensure constructability and compliance.
Manage project budgets, change orders, and cost forecasting; identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings without sacrificing quality.
Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and implement recovery plans to meet milestones and handover dates.
Enforce safety, quality, and regulatory compliance on all sites; conduct regular safety audits and coordinate with safety officers to uphold OSHA and company standards.
Build and maintain strong client, owner, and stakeholder relationships; serve as the primary point of contact for project updates, escalations, and deliverables.
Coordinate procurement, materials management, and logistics for remote or multi-site deployments to maintain workflow continuity.
Mentor and guide junior project managers, engineers, and field staff; promote best practices in project controls, documentation, and reporting.
Prepare and present clear project reports, status updates, and closeout documentation to senior leadership and clients.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.8+ years of progressive project management experience in construction with significant exposure to MEP, Plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
Proven track record leading large, complex projects from pre-construction through closeout, including budget and schedule responsibility.
Strong technical knowledge of Plumbing and HVAC systems design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
Experience with construction management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore) and familiarity with BIM/Revit workflows.
Professional Project Management certification preferred (PMP, PgMP) and/or Lean/Construction certifications a plus.
OSHA 30 (or equivalent) safety qualification preferred; demonstrated commitment to jobsite safety and quality control.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across disciplines and organizations.
