House Manager - Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Residential Services Job Summary The House Manager is responsible for the daily operations, administration, and overall management of a residential group home supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care that promotes independence, safety, and community integration. The House Manager oversees a team of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), manages residential budgets, maintains regulatory compliance, and collaborates closely with families, case managers, and healthcare providers. Key Responsibilities Personnel Management and Leadership Supervise Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and shift leads. Develop, manage, and adjust staff schedules to ensure adequate house coverage and compliance with regulatory ratios. Conduct regular staff meetings and annual performance evaluations. Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and corrective action when necessary to maintain high standards of care. Individual Care and Support Ensure the implementation of Person-Centered Plan, behavioral plans, and goal tracking for all residents. Oversee medical care, including coordinating doctor appointments, managing medication administration records (MARs), and ensuring prescriptions are filled correctly. Advocate for residents' rights, choices, and self-determination. Plan and facilitate recreational activities, outings, and community integration opportunities based on resident preferences. Operations and Compliance Maintain full compliance with state, local, and federal regulations governing residential facilities for the IDD population. Ensure the home is clean, safe, well-maintained, and prepared for licensing audits and inspections. Manage the household budget, including grocery shopping, petty cash, and individual resident funds, maintaining accurate receipts and financial records. Respond to and manage crises, emergencies, and behavioral incidents, ensuring proper documentation and incident reports are submitted to regulatory bodies within required timeframes. Must have the availability to work all shifts, and cover shifts when DSP call out.

Qualifications and Requirements Education:

High school diploma or GED required; an Associate's or bachelor's degree in human services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is highly preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working directly with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role within a residential setting.

Certifications:

Current CPR/First Aid certification and Medication Administration certification (or the ability to obtain them upon hire).

Licenses:

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, as transporting residents is a requirement.

Background Check:

Must successfully pass comprehensive criminal background checks, fingerprinting, and registry checks. Skills and Competencies Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle stressful situations, crises, and behavioral challenges with patience and professionalism. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation and compliance tracking. Proficiency in basic computer applications and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to assist individuals with physical transfer, mobility, and personal care as needed. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and sitting.
