Job Description

We are looking for an Assistant Property Manager to support daily property operations for a housing community in CA. This is a Contract position that works closely with site leadership to help maintain organized administrative processes, strong resident service, and compliance with affordable housing program requirements. The ideal candidate brings office coordination skills, sound judgment, and a thoughtful approach to working with residents, applicants, and community partners.
Assistant Property Manager Responsibilities:
  • Support the Community Manager with daily administrative and operational activities to help keep the property running efficiently.
  • Coordinate maintenance service requests, track completion of repairs, file related documentation, and follow up when additional action is needed.
  • Assist with resident move-ins and move-outs by preparing paperwork, explaining next steps, and helping conduct unit inspections.
  • Manage applicant and waiting list records, review applications for completeness, and process documentation in accordance with program rules and company standards.
  • Receive rent payments, reconcile funds collected, and complete bank deposits and related cash-handling tasks as assigned.
  • Prepare resident recertification packets by meeting with residents, gathering required documents, and submitting completed files for management review.
  • Maintain accurate resident files, incident documentation, and emergency records in an orderly and audit-ready format.
  • Help enforce community and housing program policies consistently while providing courteous guidance to residents and applicants.
  • Produce routine property status reports, organize incoming office mail, and maintain a clean, well-organized office environment.
  • Foster respectful relationships with residents, service providers, and local stakeholders while supporting an inclusive and equitable housing community.
