Job Description
We are looking for an Assistant Property Manager to support daily property operations and help deliver a positive experience for residents, tenants, and prospective occupants in Berkeley, California. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who brings a strong background in property administration, leasing support, and organized portfolio coordination across residential, commercial, or affordable housing environments. The position will partner closely with site and operations leadership to maintain occupancy, uphold compliance standards, and keep property records and systems current.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate day-to-day administrative and operational activities for assigned properties, ensuring records, tenant communications, and site documentation remain accurate and up to date.
- Assist with leasing efforts by responding to inquiries, scheduling tours, preparing application materials, and supporting the move-in and renewal process.
- Maintain resident and tenant files within Yardi and related systems, including updates to lease data, notices, service requests, and reporting details.
- Support rent collection, ledger review, and follow-up communication regarding balances, payment arrangements, and account questions.
- Work with vendors, maintenance teams, and internal staff to track work orders, monitor service completion, and help resolve property issues in a timely manner.
- Help monitor compliance requirements for HUD and affordable housing programs by organizing documentation and supporting file accuracy and audit readiness.
- Prepare routine operational reports, occupancy updates, and administrative summaries for property management leadership.
- Provide attentive customer service to residents, applicants, and business tenants while addressing concerns and escalating issues when needed.
