DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
The Construction Field Supervisor will be responsible for supervising field staff for the Energy Services Department. The supervisor must be proficient in designated areas of the Energy Efficiency arena, including but not limited to; performing comprehensive on-site energy audits/surveys for residential, small business or commercial customers. Energy audits may include; gas, water or electrical data gathering, energy use analysis, on-site inspections, and customer education. Responsible for writing/preparing daily, weekly and monthly status or other reports as required. Management, supervision and interacting with a diverse field staff in fast paced environment. Oversee and/or conduct field analysis of business sites for energy savings opportunities. Delegate and/or conduct inventory of all business lighting, light refrigeration and industrial processing electrical equipment. Knowledge of and ability to identify eligible equipment for cost-effective replacement, removal or modification. Knowledge of energy efficient programs and ability to determine the best energy-saving equipment alternatives for specific projects. Generate weekly progress and program reports as required; calculate estimated energy savings, cost and simple payback. Monitoring and implementation of employee attendance and FCI policies. Interact with business customers, staff, engineers and other representative as defined by FCI. Ability to train others, prepare written reports of energy cost savings, recommendations and more as required. Responsible for understanding complete goals and objectives of FCI program(s) in order to assign appropriate staff and best practices. Ability to prioritize projects and tasks. Collect, review and sign-off on all field staff timesheets. Manage customer complaints and employee conflict resolution. Communicate survey results, cost savings, equipment data and recommendations to staff, business customers or others as directed by FCI. Prepare and conduct employee reviews on quarterly basis or as determined by FCI Conduct employee training or staff meetings. This position performs other job-related duties as required. Successful Applicant must have valid California State Driver's License, reliable transportation and current automobile liability insurance in their name. Five (5) or more year's supervisory experience. Working knowledge of basic gas, water and electrical principals. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, must be able to interact with a diverse customer base and maintain effective working relationships. Must be fluent and proficient in English. Four (4) years or more experience in energy arena

  • Five (5) years or more experience or knowledge of conservation measures including but not limited to: o Lighting o HVAC o Energy Management Controls o Refrigeration o Water Efficient Technology o Energy Efficient Ancillary and emerging technologies Bilingual language proficiency is not necessary but is a plus.
Ability to delegate and clearly communicate general instructions to team members. Ability to motivate team members to work effectively as part of a group. Basic skills in operating standard office equipment such as a computer, printer, photocopier and other equipment. Flexibility and good time management skills, ability to prioritize assignments and workload appropriately to effectively meet assigned projects/tasks deadlines. Must be able to walk several City Blocks without difficulty and lift light boxes/equipment, up to 50 pounds. This is a full-time position. The work hours will be from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday or a flex schedule as assigned.
