Oversees the collection of rents and payment of bills, taxes and insurance for properties, and provides property owners with reports on finances and the status of properties. Directs leasing operations, or equipment and machinery rentals, for a company or business. Determines charges and prepares rental or lease agreements; supervises inventory, equipment maintenance and recordkeeping for leasing operations.

Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated, career-oriented, and resourceful individual to join our team as a Self Storage Co-Manager at our busy Palm Desert facility and U-Haul dealership. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, thrives in a sales-driven environment, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, professional property.
Compensation & Perks Starting Pay:
$17.50 per hour, plus commission 1.5% Monthly Revenue Share on facility revenue above the threshold established at the time of hire. As rental rates increase, this commission grows significantly, with many long-term managers earning $500+ per month from this component alone. 6.25% Commission on all merchandise sales, including locks, boxes, and packing supplies. Commission on every U-Haul transaction. Combined commissions typically add the equivalent of $3-$5 per hour , bringing total earning potential to approximately $20-$22 per hour . Employee discount on storage units. Key Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day operations of the storage facility. Work alongside team members to maximize occupancy, sales, marketing efforts, and revenue growth. Deliver exceptional customer service by professionally resolving customer questions and concerns. Sell storage units through telephone, walk-in, and email inquiries using our proven Call Flow Guidelines. Prepare leases, rental agreements, and related documentation accurately and efficiently. Reduce delinquent accounts through phone calls, text messages, and email follow-up. Build relationships with local businesses and community organizations to increase brand awareness and generate referrals. Perform inventory audits and other administrative duties. Maintain outstanding curb appeal by sweeping units, cleaning hallways, removing debris, and ensuring the property remains clean and inviting. Qualifications Sales and marketing experience, or a strong sales mindset. Passion for providing exceptional customer service. Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Enthusiasm for networking and building relationships within the local community. Comfortable using technology, including CRM systems, web browsers, and Microsoft Office. Coachable with a willingness to learn and accept ongoing feedback. Previous property management or self-storage experience is a plus but not required.
