Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: 1. Supervise, coach, and setting/maintaining appropriate boundaries of the residents as follows; a. Follows the residents; treatment plan and provides regular and reliable behavioral conducts. b. Coaches and mentors the residents on daily living skills that are relevant to their everyday tasks and activities. c. Demonstrates exemplary leadership of proper behavior through consistent discipline and professional attitudes. d. Encourages and strengthens strong interpersonal communication with residents. e. Develops and plans for regular home programs encourages adequate participations from the residents. f. Plans for the supervision of the residents by the FMs and Direct Care Staff (DCS). 1. Facility Managers/Youth Counselors shall coach and mentor the youth in developing teamwork and problem-solving skills. 2. A Facility Manager/ Youth Counselors shall be at least 21 years of age. 3. Shall keep accurate and proper documentation of the youth's progress and ensure to keep records of dispensation of medication, routine health evaluation, daily progress, food services, regular communications in daily logbook, all special Incident reports (SIR), maintenance of equipment facility and inventories. 4. Facility Manager/Youth Counselors shall consider and ensure the needs of the children, youth and young adult like; clothing, food preparation, complying with home safety measures, proper maintenance of equipment and facilities, environmental cleanliness and hygiene, transportation are met. 5. Shall regularly perform vehicle inspections in accordance with the safety and required standards of DMV. 6. Shall take part in treatment team meetings, monthly and quarterly continuous quarterly improvement evaluation meetings, trainings including pre-service and in-serve orientations and trainings to staff and Direct Care Staff. 7. Shall participate in administrative meetings to review admission and discharge, bi-weekly program and activity performance review meetings, and general facility appraisal meetings. 8. The Facility Managers/Youth Counselors shall provide administrative support to the management operations of the home/facility, for example, selection and evaluation of the Direct Care Staff's performance, documents and keeps all financial records on the operations of the facility, reviews staff time sheets, salaries, and payments to vendors. 9. The Facility Manager/Youth Counselors shall maintain warm and professional relationships with employees. 10. Shall receive supervision from the Lead Facility Manager maintain good team work with the treatment team, collaborate with community partners such as; school personnel, law enforcement agents, community residents, and donors. 11. Coordinate transactions with vendors and local suppliers; provides oversight support to Direct Care Staffs, probation officers, and social workers on site; and develop community resources for the organization. 12. Facility Manager/Youth Counselors shall perform other special tasks and assignments as may be required. The qualifications of the
Facility Managers/Youth Counselors:
1. Have a Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree; a. Two years of full-time experience, or its equivalent, working with the population to be served, or equivalent education or experience, as determined by CDSS. b. Two years' experience as a member of the social work staff in a group home or short-term residential therapeutic program. 2. When permitted by licensing, a BA in a related field and a minimum of two years' experience in community services. A minimum of two years' experience working in a related field or setting such as; community social services, behavioral health, or residential setting. 3. Meets CCL and state requirements for employment, for example; Fingerprinted and cleared and complete a Child Abuse Index clearance, TB/Health Physical. Valid CDL and clean driving record. 4. Able to produce well-written documentation, good verbal skills with staff, children, youth and young adults. 5. Ability to understand, follow, and give out instructions. 6. Be computer literate. 7. Ability to work independently in stressful situations. 8. Ability to manage objects, tools, and operate controls. 9. Reach a high shelf to store and retrieve boxes. 10. Can push, pull, lift or carry about 10 lbs. 11. Able to drive a vehicle. 12. CPR and First Aid Certified 13. Staff members will be expected to engage in ongoing professional development by completing a minimum of 66.5 hours of training annually. This training requirement encompasses a combination of in-house training sessions totaling 33.25 hours and external training provided by outside providers, also amounting to 33.25 hours.
