As the Chief Student Services Officer in a dynamic and rapidly growing District, the Vice President of Student Services, under the direction of the Superintendent/President, plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates an effective comprehensive Student Services Program that supports student access, equity, and success. The incumbent provides leadership and supervision in the following areas: Enrollment Services, Counseling, International Students, Financial Aid, Intercollegiate Athletics, Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE), Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSPS), Student Life, Health Services, Mental Health Services, Veterans Services, and Federal TRIO Programs. The incumbent plans, organizes, provides direction, evaluates and supervises personnel and effectively represents and develops an effective student services program. They will purposefully design, encourage and implement student achievement, success, and retention strategies, culturally relevant pedagogies, practices, and programs that result in an effective, welcoming, and equitable learning environment for student success. The successful candidate for this position will be a creative, dynamic, and collaborative leader who is committed to advancing student access, equity, and success for our diverse student body. The Vice President of Student Services collaborates with the Vice President of Instruction, Vice President of Human Resources, Vice President of Business Services, and a dedicated team of professionals to ensure that the College maintains its strong integration of student services and instruction while working toward achieving the College's mission and strategic goals. This is an administrative position, exempt from overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, with responsibility for formulation and recommendation of district policies, regulations and budget decisions related to the area of responsibility.
