Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to join our dynamic property management team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of residential and commercial properties, ensuring exceptional tenant satisfaction and efficient property performance. Your responsibilities will include assisting with lease administration, maintenance coordination, financial management, and compliance with housing regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in property management while contributing to a vibrant community environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, and experienced with property management software and legal administrative procedures. Responsibilities Assist in managing lease or rental agreement processes, including drafting, renewals, and terminations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards. Support property maintenance activities by coordinating repairs, inspections, and vendor relationships to uphold property standards. Utilize property management tools such as Yardi and OneSite to input data, generate reports, and track occupancy rates effectively. Handle client communication professionally via phone and email, addressing inquiries related to leasing, rent payments, or maintenance requests promptly. Maintain accurate records through data entry, filing, and document management systems while ensuring adherence to Fair Housing regulations and Section 8 program requirements. Assist in budgeting tasks by tracking expenses and preparing financial reports for property owners or management teams. Support conflict management efforts by mediating tenant concerns and resolving disputes in accordance with landlord-tenant law. Skills Proficiency in property management software such as Yardi, OneSite, and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Strong understanding of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and Section 8 housing programs. Previous experience in real estate administrative roles or property management companies is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone etiquette and client relationship management tools. Demonstrated conflict resolution and negotiation skills to handle tenant issues or lease negotiations confidently. Knowledge of property maintenance procedures, facilities management practices, and leasing procedures. Competency in Microsoft Office Suite for document creation, data entry, budgeting spreadsheets, and reporting tasks. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
