Northeast Washington, DC Job Responsibilites:
Serve as the primary front-desk contact for residents, guests, and visitors. Provide professional, compassionate, and responsive customer service. Respond to resident questions and concerns, providing assistance or connecting individuals with the appropriate staff member or department. Answer and direct incoming phone calls and inquiries. Monitor security cameras and follow visitor, check-in, and building security procedures. Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for residents and staff. Work collaboratively with Residential Programs and Property Management to address resident concerns using a trauma-informed and customer-service approach. Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies and follow established emergency procedures. Maintain accurate and timely documentation regarding resident interactions, incidents, and other activities. Support confidentiality and compliance requirements related to residential and victim services programs. Partner with program staff and management to maintain organized and accurate resident records and documentation. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who is professional, compassionate, dependable, and comfortable working in a residential shelter environment. You should be able to remain calm and solution-focused when handling resident concerns, unexpected situations, or emergencies. Candidates with experience in shelters, residential programs, supportive housing, social services, property management, security, front-desk/customer service, case management, or other human-services environments are encouraged to apply. Ideal Qualifications & Skills Previous experience in a customer service, residential, shelter, social services, or community-based environment preferred. Ability to interact respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with a larger team. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Ability to follow safety, security, emergency, and incident-reporting procedures.
