Oversees the collection of rents and payment of bills, taxes and insurance for properties, and provides property owners with reports on finances and the status of properties. Directs leasing operations, or equipment and machinery rentals, for a company or business. Determines charges and prepares rental or lease agreements; supervises inventory, equipment maintenance and recordkeeping for leasing operations.

Job Description

Overview The Property Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of residential community, ensuring that the property is well-maintained, financially sound, compliant with applicable housing requirements, and provides a positive living experience for residents. This position serves as the primary point of contact for residents and is responsible for tenant relations, leasing and occupancy, rent collection, maintenance coordination, vendor management, financial reporting, and property-related compliance. The Property Manager works closely with leadership. Duties Manage all aspects of property operations, including leasing, compliance, rent collection, and tenant relations. Oversee property maintenance and facilities management to ensure safety, and cleanliness. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and maintenance teams to schedule repairs and inspections promptly. Handle administrative tasks including lease agreements, contracts, notices, filing systems, and record-keeping. Resolve tenant conflicts effectively through negotiation and conflict management strategies while maintaining positive relationships. Maintain accurate records of rent payments, lease renewals, maintenance requests, and legal documentation. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Property Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent education, knowledge, training, or relevant professional experience will be considered. Minimum of three years of related property management or residential housing experience. Demonstrated experience with affordable housing compliance, including tenant eligibility, income certification, file documentation, and ongoing compliance requirements. Experience administering or maintaining compliance with State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program requirements strongly preferred. Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and other applicable federal, state, and local housing regulations. Certified Property Manager (CPM) or Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) designation preferred. Fluency in English and Spanish required. Strong understanding of residential property management practices and tenant relations. Strong financial acumen with experience in property budgeting, rent collection, expense management, and financial reporting. Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive or challenging resident situations professionally and consistently. Proficiency with property management software and standard office technology. Ability to inspect apartments, buildings, and grounds, including walking throughout the property and climbing stairs. Must be available to respond to after-hours property emergencies as needed.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
