Overview:
Assistant Property Manager - Affordable Housing / HUD Section 8 We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to support daily operations at a HUD Section 8 affordable housing community in Ocala, FL. This role works closely with the Property Manager to help maintain compliance, support leasing and resident relations, and ensure smooth, accurate property operations. Key Responsibilities Assist with day-to-day property operations, leasing, renewals, resident communications, and vendor coordination. Process move-ins, annual recertifications, interim certifications, HAP vouchers, and related HUD/Section 8 documentation. Maintain accurate, audit-ready tenant files and ensure compliance with HUD, Fair Housing, ADA, EEO, and Section 504 requirements. Support rent collection, delinquency follow-up, accounts receivable, invoice review, budget tracking, and monthly reporting. Help manage waitlists, applications, tours, marketing efforts, occupancy goals, and resident service standards. Support the Property Manager with staff coordination, operational controls, audits, special projects, and overall community performance. Qualifications High school diploma required; associate degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years of property management experience, preferably in affordable housing. HUD/Section 8 experience required, including recertifications, vouchers, and compliance documentation. Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with residents, staff, vendors, and agencies. Preferred Certifications COS, HCCP, SCHM, CP3, CAM, CAPS, CPM, or equivalent certification preferred. Why Join Us Mission-driven affordable housing environment. Pay:
$48,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
