Job Description

1st Place is seeking a highly organized, dependable, and service-focused Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day operations of a 150+ room property. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who can assist with staff supervision, guest relations, property operations, and administrative responsibilities while helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the General Manager and on-site team to ensure daily operations run efficiently and that guests receive a consistent 1st Place experience. Key Responsibilities Assist the General Manager with the daily operations of the property, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services. Supervise, support, and motivate on-site staff to ensure company standards and expectations are consistently met. Assist with staff scheduling, training, timekeeping, and daily task assignments. Monitor guest check-ins, check-outs, room availability, and occupancy. Address guest concerns and complaints promptly, professionally, and effectively. Conduct regular property and room inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and overall quality standards. Assist with coordinating maintenance, repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance. Communicate with vendors, contractors, and service providers as needed. Assist with maintaining accurate records, reports, contracts, inspections, and other property documentation. Support marketing and occupancy initiatives, including promotions, guest retention, and community outreach. Assist with monitoring expenses, supplies, and operational needs. Help ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety requirements, and applicable building regulations. Serve as a manager on duty when the General Manager is unavailable. Identify operational issues and work with management to develop and implement solutions. Promote a professional, respectful, and team-oriented work environment. Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager or ownership. Qualifications 2+ years of hospitality, property management, hotel, or supervisory experience preferred. Experience working in a hotel, extended-stay property, apartment community, or similar environment is a plus. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively supervise and work with a diverse team. Strong customer service and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain organized in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable working independently and making appropriate decisions when management is unavailable. Experience with property management, hotel, scheduling, or point-of-sale software preferred. Strong computer and administrative skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred. Must be dependable, professional, and available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
