An Assistant Property Manager assists and provides support to the manager of a property or complex. May oversee the maintenance of the buildings. May also provide information about the community to prospective residents, and troubleshoot issues with the buildings and community residents.
Overview We are seeking an Assistant Property Manager to support the overall operations of our property. The Assistant Property Manager works closely with the Property Manager to ensure efficient property performance, resident satisfaction, occupancy goals, and compliance with company policies. This position assists with leasing activities, rent collection, resident relations, vendor coordination, and day-to-day property management functions while helping maintain a positive living environment for residents.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Property Manager with the daily operations and administration of the property Support resident retention efforts through exceptional customer service, lease renewals, and community engagement Collect rent payments, monitor delinquent accounts, and assist with notices and payment arrangements Respond to resident inquiries and coordinate resolution of maintenance requests and community concerns Assist with leasing activities, including property tours, application processing, and move-in coordination Ensure resident files, lease documents, and property records are accurate and up to date Conduct unit inspections and assist in preparing apartments for new residents Coordinate with maintenance staff and outside vendors to ensure timely completion of work orders and projects Prepare reports, correspondence, and other administrative documentation as requested Assist with budget monitoring, invoice processing, and other financial responsibilities Maintain occupancy goals by supporting marketing initiatives and resident referral programs Serve as the primary point of contact in the Property Manager's absence Maintain a professional appearance and uphold company policies and standards at all times Ensure the leasing office, common areas, and community grounds present a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
Skills:
Excellent customer service and resident relations skills Strong organizational and time management abilities with exceptional attention to detail Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and property management software Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines Knowledge of leasing practices, Fair Housing regulations, and property management operations Professional demeanor with strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with residents, vendors, and team members Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record, be able to pass a background check, and have reliable transportation.
