We are a family owned rental-property company looking for a friendly, dependable, and organized person to assist with leasing and general office work. We own and manage our own rental properties in Waterloo. We do not manage properties for outside owners. We're looking for someone who wants a steady, flexible part-time position and who can become a dependable part of our rental-property operation. If you enjoy working with people, are organized, dependable, and like having a mix of office work and getting out of the office to show properties, we'd like to hear from you. The primary responsibility will be helping prospective tenants, scheduling appointments, and showing available houses and apartments. When not handling leasing activities, you will assist with routine office and administrative work. No real estate or property-management experience is required. We will train the right person. Leasing Responsibilities Respond to prospective tenant inquiries by text, and email Contact applicants and schedule property showings Confirm appointments Meet prospective tenants at our rental properties Show houses and apartments Provide basic information about rent, utilities, parking, pets/animals, and property features Answer routine questions Follow up with prospects after showings Keep notes and records of appointments and showings Update prospect information in our rental-management software Make sure properties are locked and secure after showings Report maintenance or appearance issues noticed during property visits Office Responsibilities When you are not handling leasing activities, you may assist with routine office work such as: Updating rental listings Updating property and tenant information Scanning and filing documents Organizing receipts and invoices Maintaining vacancy and showing information Answering routine texts, and emails Preparing standard documents and correspondence Other basic administrative tasks Some of these activities may be done remotely on approval. This is an assistant position . You will not be responsible for managing the office, supervising employees, making final tenant-selection decisions, setting rents, approving major expenditures, or making management decisions. Schedule Approximately 15-20 hours per week . Office work can generally be scheduled during normal business hours. Property showings will require late-afternoon and sometimes early-evening availability , and occasional Saturday availability would be helpful.
