About the Opportunity A community-focused housing organization is seeking a Resident Services Assistant to support resident programs, community engagement initiatives, and self-sufficiency services. This role works closely with residents, community partners, and internal departments to help connect individuals and families with resources, educational opportunities, and support programs. This position is ideal for someone with a background in social services, community outreach, housing programs, or resident relations who enjoys building relationships and making a positive impact in the community. Key Responsibilities Serve as a welcoming point of contact for residents, visitors, and community partners. Provide information regarding available programs, services, and community resources. Encourage resident participation in educational, recreational, and self-sufficiency programs. Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing resident services programs and activities. Help identify resident needs and support program development to address those needs. Coordinate with local organizations, schools, and community agencies to provide resources and services. Promote positive resident relations and foster a supportive community environment. Assist with departmental administrative tasks, including requisitions, recordkeeping, and reporting. Support efforts to maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for residents. Attend trainings, meetings, and community events as needed. Assist with resolving resident concerns and directing issues to appropriate staff when necessary. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Services, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of related experience in resident services, social services, housing, community outreach, case management, or a similar field. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Experience building partnerships with community organizations and service providers. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Additional Requirements Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends. Ability to obtain industry-related certification within one year of employment if required. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Work Environment Combination of office and community-based work. Regular interaction with residents, staff, community organizations, and local agencies. Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions while attending community events or conducting site visits.
