The Studio Manager is the leader responsible for the overall success of an assigned studio by caring for four essential areas of our business: Care of Students Care of Teachers Care of Home Care of Team Together, these four pillars create the Down Under experience. About the Role The Studio Manager serves as the General Manager of their studio, combining hospitality, operations, leadership, sales, and community building into one highly visible leadership role. Working closely with the Regional Manager and other members of the leadership team, Studio Managers create an environment where exceptional service, operational excellence, and genuine human connection exist every day. Care of Students Students are the reason we exist. Studio Managers create an experience where every student feels welcomed, supported, valued, and inspired throughout their wellness journey.
Responsibilities include:
Creating an exceptional student experience every day. Building relationships with students and fostering a vibrant studio community. Supporting newcomers as they begin their Down Under journey. Driving membership growth through thoughtful enrollment conversations. Resolving student concerns with empathy, professionalism, and care. Building partnerships within the local community to expand awareness of Down Under Yoga. Ensuring every student interaction reflects our mission and values. Care of Teachers Teachers thrive when they feel supported. Studio Managers create an environment where faculty can focus on delivering exceptional classes while knowing the operational needs of the studio are being expertly managed.Responsibilities include:
Supporting teachers in their day-to-day operational needs. Building positive relationships with faculty. Ensuring classrooms are prepared and studio operations support outstanding teaching experiences. Addressing studio-related concerns promptly and professionally. Partnering with Faculty Leadership to ensure consistent communication and support. Emergency Leadership Coverage Down Under Yoga operates seven days a week, and unexpected situations occasionally occur. Studio Managers serve as the first operational leader for their assigned studio during emergency coverage situations. While Regional Managers oversee the broader subbing process, Studio Managers are expected to respond to urgent studio needs, coordinate immediate operational support, and help ensure students receive a seamless experience during unexpected faculty absences. This includes participating in an on-call leadership rotation and being available to support emergency subbing situations within their assigned studio. Care of Home Our studios are more than buildings. They are places of learning, connection, healing, and community. Studio Managers ensure every studio reflects the beauty, warmth, cleanliness, and professionalism that define the Down Under experience.Responsibilities include:
Maintaining an exceptional physical environment. Overseeing facilities, supplies, and studio readiness. Coordinating maintenance and vendor relationships. Ensuring studios are safe, organized, and fully operational. Protecting the aesthetic experience that makes each studio feel welcoming and inspiring. Care of Team Great studios are built by great teams. Studio Managers recruit, develop, coach, and inspire the people who bring the Down Under experience to life every day.Responsibilities include:
Hiring, onboarding, and developing Front Desk team members. Providing regular coaching, feedback, and recognition. Building a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning. Leading team meetings and ongoing communication. Ensuring appropriate staffing and desk coverage. Creating and managing the team schedule. Supporting employee engagement, growth, and retention. Leading through the principles of The Management Circle. What Makes Someone Successful in This Role?Successful Studio Managers are:

One or more years of leadership experience in hospitality, retail, fitness, wellness, or customer service. Experience leading or developing a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Yoga Alliance 200-hour certification or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree (preferred but not required). Schedule & Availability This is a full-time leadership position averaging approximately 45 hours per week, 5 days a week including one weekend day (e.g., Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday). . Because our studios operate mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, flexibility is essential. Studio Managers are expected to adjust their schedules to meet the needs of the business, support their teams, and provide leadership during unexpected operational situations. Why Down Under Yoga?
