Summary We are seeking a Housing Specialist to join our team at Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Fall River. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals and families seeking housing assistance, ensuring they have access to the resources necessary for stability and success. Responsibilities Facilitate group workshops on financial literacy, homebuyer education, and post purchase support Provide individualized counseling to clients on budgeting, credit improvement, foreclosure prevention, and homeownership Assist clients in developing action plans to achieve homeownership goals Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client activities and progress Stay current on housing laws, mortgage products, and community resources Refer clients to relevant community services and mortgage programs as appropriate Link clients with mortgage service representatives, realtors, and other relevant parties to provide information regarding mortgage products, eligibility criteria, application processes, and available financial resources, ensuring informed decision-making Support outreach and community engagement efforts to promote homeownership services Provide professional housing counseling to prospective and existing low to moderate income families and individuals for pre- and post-purchase, foreclosure and rental in accordance with HUD standards and guidelines Adhere to all guidelines related to safeguarding client Personally Identifiable Information. Adept at balancing competing priorities while delivering client-centered support. Assist with rental apartment search, referrals, and internal sources and programs when homeowners are faced with foreclosure Attempt to preserve homeownership for existing homeowners at risk of foreclosure through resources such as loan modifications and refinancing options, temporary mortgage payments assistance, legal aid or foreclosure prevention, or programs to reduce mortgage principal or interest rates Conduct homebuyer education workshops discussing topics such as credit reports, budgeting, mortgage loans, real estate, home inspections, closing process and life as a homeowner Assist program supervisor with performing quality control tasks to ensure data accuracy, identifying and resolving errors in the NeigborWorks Compass client management system to achieve a successful submission of

quarterly reports Ability to utilize tools related to budgeting, debt reduction and credit rebuilding to assist clients with homeownership goals Conduct financial literacy classes for individuals in homeless shelters to help them build stability Exhibit excellent documentation skills, organization, and communication skills to adequately handle ongoing caseloads and foster connections with community resources Adhere to HUD Housing Counseling Regulations and adhere to the established collaborative standards to maintain Massachusetts Homeownership Collaborative Seal of Approval, managed by Citizens' Housing and Planning Association (CHAPA) Obtain HUD Certification within three months of hire Meet with the Program Supervisor for weekly supervision and to provide updates on program activities. Clarify and any questions and concerns during meetings Respond to inquiries, phone calls, correspondence, and e-mails in a timely manner Complete all tasks assigned by the
