Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Property Manager to oversee the day-to-day care and maintenance of a private 130-acre property in Baltimore County, Maryland, while also assisting with the management of two residential rental properties. The Property Manager will work closely with the family's Executive Assistant to ensure the properties are well maintained, organized, and operating smoothly at all times. This is not a traditional desk-based property management position. The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, and self-directed, with the ability to recognize what needs attention, prioritize competing needs, find practical solutions, and follow through without constant direction. The goal of this position is to ensure the properties are impeccably maintained, fully operational, and consistently ready to support the family's needs. Property & Estate Management Regularly inspect the estate, residences, grounds, buildings, and property systems and proactively identify anything requiring attention Oversee the general condition, appearance, and maintenance of the property Work with established contractors, landscapers, service providers, and vendors to coordinate maintenance and repairs Schedule services and contractor visits around the family's schedule in coordination with the Executive Assistant Monitor HVAC, water systems, septic systems, appliances, pool equipment, lighting, generators, and other property systems Maintain preventative-maintenance schedules and ensure routine service is completed on time Keep accurate records of service dates, repairs, vendors, warranties, and upcoming maintenance Identify problems and determine an appropriate solution, whether completing a basic repair, troubleshooting an issue, contacting an established vendor, or finding the appropriate professional Perform basic maintenance and repairs when practical Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, replacement parts, filters, and property supplies Help ensure all areas of the property are clean, organized, functional, and ready for the family's use Grounds & Equipment Oversee grounds maintenance in coordination with existing landscaping and mowing contractors Personally maintain certain high-use or detail areas of the property as needed Mow designated paths and areas used regularly by the family Assist with weed management, gardening, watering, landscaping, debris removal, and other seasonal property needs Operate or learn to operate tractors, mowers, brush hogs, utility vehicles, and other property equipment Monitor equipment condition and coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs Assist with storm preparation, snow, fallen trees/branches, and other weather-related property needs Residential Property Management Assist with the management and rental of additional residential properties, including: Preparing and maintaining homes for rental Coordinating listings and showings Communicating with prospective and current tenants Assisting with tenant screening, leases, move-ins, move-outs, and renewals Responding to tenant and property needs Coordinating repairs, maintenance, contractors, and turnovers Conducting routine property inspections Keeping rental properties well maintained and ready for occupancy Maintaining organized records related to tenants, maintenance, vendors, and the properties The Property Manager will work closely with the Executive Assistant on these responsibilities. Vehicles, Events & Family Support Coordinate vehicle washing, detailing, routine service, repairs, inspections, and other vehicle needs Help ensure vehicles and recreational equipment are fueled, maintained, and ready for use Assist with setup, breakdown, and property preparation for dinners, parties, conferences, and other events. Be available for occasional evening or weekend events with advance notice Assist with special projects and miscellaneous property-related requests Respond to requests from the family and help find practical solutions to their needs Prioritize the family's needs and ensure the estate is consistently ready for their use What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is dependable, resourceful, proactive, organized, and accountable. The right person should be able to walk the property, notice something that needs attention, determine its priority, and take responsibility for getting it resolved.
