Job Description

Evergreen Assisted Living is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and organized Assistant Property Manager to support the daily operation of our assisted-living community. This position combines resident care, medication administration, staff support, documentation oversight, and administrative responsibilities. The Assistant Property Manager helps maintain a safe, respectful, and positive environment for residents while supporting employees and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. This is a hands-on position that requires the ability to provide direct resident care and assist with floor coverage when needed. Primary Responsibilities Resident Care and Medication Administration Provide direct care and assistance with residents' activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, toileting, continence care, positioning, mobility, and meal assistance. Administer medications according to provider orders and CRMA requirements. Accurately document all medications administered and maintain complete medication records. Monitor residents' physical, emotional, and mental condition and promptly report changes to the appropriate manager or nurse. Measure and document vital signs when required. Respond promptly and courteously to resident calls and requests. Assist with meals, snacks, dining-room service, kitchen cleanup, laundry, and routine housekeeping when needed. Assist residents with transfers, ambulation, restorative exercises, and transportation to activities. Provide emergency first aid, CPR, or other appropriate assistance when necessary. Protect residents' dignity, privacy, confidentiality, and individual rights. Administrative and Operational Support Assist with resident admissions, discharges, and transfers under the supervision of the Property Manager or Administrator. Help coordinate admission paperwork, pharmacy services, medication orders, medical appointments, transportation, and resident supplies. Ensure resident files are organized, accurate, current, and maintained confidentially. Complete and submit incident and accident documentation promptly. Participate in daily administrative meetings. Assist with employee scheduling and arrange floor coverage when assigned. Collect rent for the assigned community when directed by the Property Manager or Administrator. Report employee performance, attendance, safety, or disciplinary concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned. Staff Training and Documentation Support onsite orientation and ensure new-hire paperwork is completed correctly. Ensure new employees receive appropriate floor training and complete the required Skills Task List. Train newly certified CRMAs on the medication cart and facility procedures. Review Medication Administration Records for missing documentation or other concerns. Complete weekly documentation, resident-chart, and required state-file audits. Maintain medication inventory, order medications and supplies, and communicate with the pharmacy as needed. Attend required staff meetings, monthly training sessions, and in-service programs. Minimum Qualifications Current Certified Residential Medication Administrator (CRMA) certification is preferred. Candidates who are not CRMAs must hold a current PSS, RCS, or CNA credential, or obtain the required credential and CRMA certification within 90 days of hire. Current First Aid and CPR certification, or the ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe. Previous assisted-living, residential-care, supervisory, or administrative experience is preferred. Ability to read and follow written instructions, understand verbal directions, and complete accurate documentation. Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies, stressful situations, and end-of-life care. Dependable attendance and the ability to work a flexible schedule based on community needs. Ability to maintain at least 10 hours of required annual in-service training. Ability to maintain resident and employee confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and company policy. Must successfully complete all required background and pre-employment screenings.
Important:
An employee who also holds a CNA certification is being hired to perform the responsibilities of the Assistant Property Manager/CRMA position and is not being employed as a CNA. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position. The employee must be able to: Stand and walk frequently throughout the workday. Bend, kneel, reach, grasp, push, and pull. Push wheelchairs and other resident-care equipment. Assist residents with transfers, positioning, standing, and ambulation. Assist with moving approximately 40 to 60 pounds, with appropriate assistance and equipment when required. Communicate clearly with residents, families, employees, healthcare providers, and visitors. Perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Workplace Safety This position may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, infectious materials, and other occupational hazards. Employees must follow universal precautions, infection-control procedures, fire-safety practices, and all other workplace safety requirements.
