Oversees the collection of rents and payment of bills, taxes and insurance for properties, and provides property owners with reports on finances and the status of properties. Directs leasing operations, or equipment and machinery rentals, for a company or business. Determines charges and prepares rental or lease agreements; supervises inventory, equipment maintenance and recordkeeping for leasing operations.

Job Description

Operations Manager Home Base is seeking a highly organized and dependable local Operations Manager to manage the day-to-day field operations of our fast-growing short-term rental portfolio on the Western Michigan coast. This hands-on role is responsible for ensuring every property is exceptionally clean, well-maintained, fully stocked, and ready to deliver a five-star guest experience. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. They take ownership, hold themselves and others accountable, and solve problems immediately before they affect guests or homeowners. Key Responsibilities Conduct regular property inspections to ensure homes meet Home Base's elevated quality and readiness standards Support, coach, and hold cleaning teams accountable for delivering consistent five-star results Review cleaning checklists, photographs, and property conditions before every guest arrival Identify, document, and coordinate the timely resolution of maintenance issues Respond to operational problems, guest requests, and other time-sensitive needs in the field Complete light maintenance tasks, supply deliveries, and operational runs as needed Monitor property inventory and coordinate the restocking of linens, supplies, and guest amenities Maintain an organized inventory and warehouse system Assist with onboarding new properties, including inspections, inventory setup, documentation, and operational readiness Coordinate closely with cleaners, maintenance vendors, and company leadership to keep daily operations running smoothly Maintain accurate property notes, photographs, inspection records, and task updates using company software Help develop and improve operational processes while maintaining high standards of quality and accountability Qualifications Experience in short-term rentals, property management, hospitality, real estate, residential cleaning, or field operations is strongly preferred Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent communication, judgment, and problem-solving abilities Comfortable working independently and adapting to changing priorities throughout the day Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the day Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation Personal smartphone and computer for daily communication and company software Position Details 1099 independent contractor position Full-time workload Schedule will vary based on business needs and guest turnover volume, including weekends and holidays when needed Requires the use of a personal vehicle, smartphone, and computer Reports to Home Base's Michigan Operations Leader Career Opportunity This is an excellent long-term career opportunity with financial upside for someone who enjoys working in the field, solving problems, working collaboratively with others, and taking ownership of the daily operations that create exceptional guest and homeowner experiences.
