Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HUD Property Manager to oversee affordable housing properties managed under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs. In this vital role, you will ensure compliance with federal regulations, manage leasing and tenant relations, coordinate property maintenance, and lead a team dedicated to providing exceptional service to residents. Your expertise in property management tools, legal administrative processes, and tenant law will drive operational excellence and foster vibrant, compliant communities. Duties Manage daily operations of HUD-assisted properties, ensuring adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations including Fair Housing laws. Oversee lease or rental agreement management, including tenant screening, lease signing, rent collection, and renewal processes using property management software such as Yardi and OneSite. Coordinate property maintenance and facilities management activities to ensure safe, clean, and well-maintained living environments for residents. Maintain accurate data entry, filing, and recordkeeping for all property-related documentation using property management tools and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Handle client communication with residents, prospective tenants, vendors, and team members via phone etiquette and professional customer service practices. Conduct conflict management and negotiation to resolve tenant disputes effectively while upholding legal standards. Assist in budgeting, financial reporting, and oversight of property expenses to optimize operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with Section 8 housing programs by managing voucher administration and related paperwork. Support team management efforts through training, supervision, and fostering a collaborative work environment focused on exceptional customer service. Experience Proven experience in property management within a real estate or property management company environment. Extensive knowledge of HUD regulations, Fair Housing laws, LIHTC compliance, Landlord-Tenant law, and Section 8 program requirements. Demonstrated proficiency with Yardi, OneSite, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems, and other property management tools such as LIHTC tracking systems. Prior experience in legal administrative tasks related to leasing agreements, contracts management, and regulatory filings. Strong background in team management with the ability to lead staff effectively while maintaining high standards of customer service. Excellent conflict resolution skills combined with negotiation abilities to handle tenant issues professionally. Office experience involving data entry, filing systems, facilities management coordination, and administrative support functions. Familiarity with property maintenance procedures as well as health & safety standards applicable to residential properties.
