The Shift Supervisor plays an important role in supporting Harbor Care's mission by providing leadership and operational oversight of Residential Support Workers (RSW's) to ensure staff accountability, resident safety, and effective program operations. Amherst Street, Nashua Schedule:
40-hour, non-exempt/hourly position;10am-6pm or 11am-7pm schedule to provide coverage across first and second shift operations. Schedule will include one weekend day; Tuesday thru Saturday or Sunday thru Thursday. What You'll Do Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary operational support leader during your shift, managing the transition between daytime and evening programing. Guide RSW's specific to continuity of care, safety, structure, and adherence to program expectations. Assign and monitor daily responsibilities, ensuring appropriate staff coverage and completion of shift duties. Responsible for providing guidance and coaching to RSW staff in real time for 1st and 2nd shift. Maintain a consistent presence in the milieu, observing groups and providing feedback. Facilitate and co-facilitate groups. Model recovery oriented, trauma informed, person centered, and professional interactions with program participants. Support RSW staff in managing challenging behaviors, participant conflicts, crisis, and boundary concerns. Identify training and coaching needs and reinforce appropriate policies, procedures, and documentation practices. Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, professionalism, and adherence to scheduling expectations. Escalate significant personnel, clinical, safety, or operational concerns to program leadership. Build positive and professional relationships with clients, staff, and community partners. Maintain accurate and timely documentation, records, or reporting requirements Support Harbor Care's philosophy of care, mission, and organizational values in day-to-day work Please note: Duties and responsibilities may evolve based on organizational needs, funding requirements, and program operations. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Health, human services, psychology, social work, or related field. Experience with Residential Treatment. Experience with Substance Use Disorders, Behavioral Health, and/or Recovery Support Services. Strong knowledge of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centered care. Previous experience providing leadership, supervision or shift coordination. Strong communication, organization, documentation and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and promote a safe, respectful, and recovery focused milieu. Ability to work a 10am-6pm schedule and provide coverage across first and second shift operations. Preferred Qualifications Experience with medication assisted treatment, harm reduction, relapse prevention, and recovery planning. Experience facilitating groups. Experience with de-escalation and managing challenging behaviors. Experience working within nonprofit, healthcare, behavioral health, housing, human services, or community-based settings.
