Project Freedom, a leading non-profit affordable housing organization, is seeking a dedicated Assistant Property Manager to help keep our 72-unit apartment community running smoothly and efficiently. As an Assistant Property Manager, you'll play a vital role in supporting residents, coordinating services, and ensuring our operations are efficient and welcoming.
Position Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong typing skills (40+ WPM)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written communication for newsletters, memos, and professional correspondence
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Friendly, professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
  • Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
  • Experience with file management (digital and physical)
Bonus:
Experience with MITAS software and property management systems
Key Responsibilities:
Office & Operations Support
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment; coordinate service calls as needed
  • Track receipts, scan invoices, and communicate with the Finance Department
  • Prepare bank deposits and assist with rent collection and tracking Resident Engagement & Community Building
  • Assist in planning and reporting on community events and social service programs
  • Create and distribute monthly calendars, flyers, and sign-up sheets
  • Communicate with vendors and service providers to ensure successful events Tenant & Applicant Support
  • Manage and maintain the housing waiting list
  • Process applications, eligibility letters, and background checks
  • Maintain accurate and confidential tenant files Maintenance Coordination
  • Prepare and track maintenance requests
  • Coordinate with vendors and maintenance staff
  • Maintain detailed records of repairs and warranties Financial & Administrative Tasks
  • Handle laundry card collections and deposits
  • Enter tenant data for lease-ups and recertifications in MITAS
  • Support the PM/SSC with daily administrative tasks and reporting
