The Housing Manager ensures the smooth operation of the sober living home and the welfare of its residents. The duties range from the practical aspects of managing the day-to-day operations of the house, such as overseeing fiscal management and house maintenance, to more intangible tasks like conflict resolution and establishing a sense of community among residents. The Housing Manager will monitor compliance with house rules and facilitate the recovery process through support and guidance. The Housing Manager will act as a liaison between residents and the broader recovery community, coordinate with external agencies for addiction recovery support, and ensure that residents have access to necessary resources. Through these diverse roles, the House Manager is instrumental in creating a supportive, nurturing, and structured environment conducive to recovery and personal growth. - Potential for growth : This is a management position, with the potential for additional homes to managed and growth in salary, career, etc.

Responsibilities:

Be open to all paths of recovery. See recovery from a harm reduction lens Supportive of ethical MAT and mental health medication needs Be SUPPORTIVE, WILLING and

to work with residents who have co-occurring mental health and physical disabilities. Stay informed about the latest developments in recovery and mental health to provide up-to-date information and resources. Orient new residents to the home and ensure that all policies and procedures are explained to them Handle day to day resident concerns, staff concerns with director Assist director with reviewing resident grievances. Assist director with responding to incidents at the recovery home and ensure appropriate reports are completed Assist director with responding when a resident is not upholding the Code of Conduct help monitor residents for potential warning signs concerning recurrence of symptoms and refer them for more support Check in with residents on a daily basis and ensure they are attending treatment activates and completing daily shores Ensure residents are coming home at curfew, and signing in and out throughout the day Meet with residents at least weekly to discuss their recovery plans Check to make sure the safety equipment (smoke detectors, fire extinguishers) is in good working order Assist director with examining the physical property and ensure that all residents are accounted for, residents do not need additional support, and the house is free from substance use. Assist director with checking the home periodically for potential physical safety hazards Manage day to day functions of the household, chores, small fixes (changing a light bulb, unclogging a toilet, etc). Assigning chores to residents and holding them accountable to keep the space neat and clean.

Additional certifications in addiction counseling or related fields are a plus. Must have basic computer skills, ability to type, email, basic scanning and printing, upload and download attachment files from email, with little to no assistance

Experience:

Previous experience managing a sober living environment. Proven experience providing peer support in a mental health or substance use recovery setting. Has at least o ne year of sobriety including a strong support group, with weekly participation.

Skills:

Ability to problem solve day to day problems independently and creatively Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain boundaries while fostering a supportive environment. Organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of local resources and services related to recovery. Able to de-escalate crisis situations.
