House managers will be hired to work at the group home. They will be responsible for maintaining the daily living routine at the home of residents and supervising staff. A house manager will be expected to work full time at the group home. The hours will vary with some on call hours. Each house manager should have one evening off per week, one weekend off per month and two weeks of vacation time per year. The house manager will be responsible for: Checking and responding to Emails and Voicemails in a timely manner Ensuring the safety of the girls. Handling emergencies. Supervising staff Communicating with caseworker or service teams for youth Training new and annual staff Approving time sheets Creating House Schedule Delegating to leadership team to schedule needed services for youth Delegate Monthly House inventory is completed Transporting youth delegating work vehicles are clean, maintained and have gas Schedule monthly emergency drills Overseeing schedules for school, jobs, homework, and counseling for the girls and their families. Assuring that the girls have adequate clothes, needed medical and dental care, haircuts and personal hygiene supplies. Grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, gardening, light maintenance and repairs, snow removal and lawn care - in short all of the duties that would usually fall to parents and homeowners. The house managers will be involved in school activities, meal time conversations, and other activities that are a part of life at the group home. Provide consequences to staff and residents when there are rule violations File resident and staff documentation in the correct folders check daily reports While it is anticipated that most of the girls will come to the GEMS home by appointment it is likely that some of the girls will arrive in the middle of the night or on short notice. The House manager will be responsible for the initial intake in these situations.
