Job Description
A Residential Roofing Production Manager coordinates and supervises residential roofing projects from start to finish. Responsibilities include scheduling crews, ordering materials, managing subcontractors, conducting site inspections, ensuring safety compliance, handling customer communication, and resolving production issues to ensure profitable and high-quality project completion. Core Responsibilities Project Coordination Schedule roofing jobs and assign crews Coordinate deliveries of shingles, membranes, flashing, dumpsters, etc. Monitor project timelines and adjust schedules due to weather or delays Ensure permits and inspections are completed Crew & Subcontractor Management Supervise roofing crews and subcontractors Verify workmanship and productivity Train team members on safety and company standards Resolve on-site conflicts or performance issues Quality Control Inspect roofs before, during, and after installation Ensure work meets manufacturer specifications and local building codes Conduct final walkthroughs with customers Customer Communication Update homeowners or commercial clients on project status Address complaints or change requests Handle warranty/service issues after installation Budget & Materials Track labor and material costs Prevent waste and theft Approve invoices and work orders Coordinate with suppliers Safety & Compliance Enforce OSHA safety practices Conduct job-site safety meetings Ensure proper use of PPE and fall protection systems Common Requirements Experience 3-7+ years in roofing, construction, or project management Experience with residential, commercial, or both roofing systems Skills Leadership and crew management Scheduling and logistics Problem-solving under pressure Knowledge of roofing systems and installation methods Communication and customer service Budget management Technical Knowledge Often expected to understand: Asphalt shingles
