Assistant Property Manager Capco Property Management is a family-run property management company dedicated to providing hands-on, reliable service to both property owners and tenants. We are a small but fast-growing business currently managing over 150 properties, with plans to add over 100 additional properties by the end of 2026. We are seeking an Assistant Property Manager to support daily operations and grow alongside our company. This is a partially hybrid position that will be transitioning to an office location as well as be out in the field on a regular basis. About the
Role:
Assist with day-to-day property management operations Communicate with tenants, property owners, and vendors Coordinate and follow up on maintenance and repairs Conduct property showings, inspections, and on-site visits, attend court cases for evictions Support leasing, documentation, and general administrative duties
Properties & Location:
We primarily manage Section 8 (Housing Choice Voucher) and market-rate rental properties Must be comfortable working with Section 8 tenants and processes Properties are primarily located in South Jackson, West Jackson, and North Jackson Candidate must be comfortable conducting showings and visiting properties in these areas regularly
Work Environment:
Temporary Hybrid role with a mix of remote work and daily field work . ( Soon to be an in office and field work location) Requires reliable transportation , at home internet access and ability to travel locally

Strong communication and organizational skills Reliable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Comfortable working independently both remotely and in the field Willing to learn and grow with a small business Prior property management experience is not required — we are willing to train the right candidate

This role will grow as our portfolio expands. Responsibilities and compensation will increase over time, with the goal that within a year, this position will transition into a Lead Property Manager role , including increased pay. Duties Assist in managing day-to-day property operations, including leasing, renewals, and resident inquiries, scheduling showings and listing properties Support lease administration processes, ensuring accurate data entry into property management system DoorLoop Coordinate property maintenance requests and oversee vendor relationships to ensure timely resolution of issues Conduct property tours for prospective tenants Ensure compliance Section 8 housing Prepare and review legal documents, contracts, and notices related to landlord-tenant law and lease agreements Handle conflict management situations professionally, mediating disputes between tenants or with vendors Maintain organized filing systems for legal documents, tenant records, and maintenance logs Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, phone etiquette, and customer relationship management Able and willing to contact tenants/ Investors regarding rent and or bill payments past due Be willing and able to go to go to court on behalf of the company for things like evictions and sanctions. Be willing to serve tenants with eviction notices. Requirements Reliable transportation Ability to work from home and be able to go out in the field daily as needed. Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle conflict effectively and negotiate contracts confidently Office experience including data entry, filing, phone etiquette, and administrative support is essential Must have a strong work ethic, be able to work independently and be able to be proactive in your roll Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for legal documentation, data accuracy, and record keeping Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism Desired Skills ( Not required) Experience in property management or a rental office / Real-estate field Experience with working with a Housing Authority / Section 8 Experience with property management software such as
