Seasonal Community Manager Social Media (Inbound)
Job Description
About the role The Light Park runs large-scale Christmas light experiences across [Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Round Rock, Oklahoma City, and Gwinnett County, GA]. From October through the first week of January, our Facebook and Instagram accounts are where guests come to ask questions, share photos, and commentary on their experiences. This role is purely inbound. You won't be writing posts, building content, or running a calendar; our agency handles all of that. Your job is to answer the people who come to us, comments, DMs, and reviews across our Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Most of it is fun:
answering "what night should we come?", pointing someone to the right ticket type, fielding love for DJ Polar Ice. Some of it isn't. A family sitting in the entry line at 7:45 on December 20th wants an answer, and they want it now. This is a full-season commitment, seven days a week. Holidays are not optional, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day are among our biggest nights of the year. Park hours (Central)
Sunday-Thursday:
5:30
- 10:30 PM Friday, Saturday, and peak holiday nights: 5:30
- 11:00 PM What you'll do Respond to comments, DMs, and reviews across all Facebook and Instagram accounts Answer the recurring questions accurately and in our tone and voice Catch and de-escalate complaints early, and hand off the ones that need a refund, a manager, or an incident report to the right person on the ops team When a delay or closure is announced, handle the wave of inbound that follows Flag patterns to the marketing team the same night: if forty people ask the same thing, that's a website fix or an ad copy fix, and we want to know before morning Keep a running log of issues, sentiment, and volume so we have something real to review in the post-mortem Coverage expectations Monitoring window: 10:00 AM•11:00 PM CT, seven days a week Response target: within 1 hour during the day; within 30 minutes from 4:30 PM CT to close, when the parks are open and volume peaks
Sweeps:
clear the queue after close each night and again first thing in the morning You'll work alongside our agency of record, which supports daytime coverage. Evenings, weekends, and the live operating window are yours We can arrange fill-in coverage for illness or an occasional day off with reasonable notice. Holidays are the exception and are non-negotiable Realistically, this averages 1-2 hours a day in October and 3-5 on peak December nights. It's not a desk job, it's a phone-in-hand job, but you need to be reachable and responsive throughout the window. What we're looking for You're genuinely good with people, especially people who are annoyed. Warm, quick, never defensive You've handled inbound for a brand before, ideally something with volume, seasonality, or a live venue behind it (events, attractions, restaurants, hospitality, sports) You write well and fast, in a brand voice that isn't yours, without sounding like a script Sound judgment about when to answer and when to escalate. You know the difference between a grumpy comment and a legal problem Comfortable in Meta Business Suite; familiarity with ticketing platforms is a plus (we use TicketSpice) Available for the full season, including holidays. If you have a conflict in December, tell us now and we'll work around it. Compensation and terms $100 per day , all 95 days of the season, paid biweekly. Independent contractor (1099).
