Yes Job Description ECU Campus Living is currently seeking several Residence Life Resident Advisors. The Residence Life Resident Advisor (RA) is a live-in position with responsibilities for building relationships and creating an engaging residential community in conjunction with the Hall Coordinator. The Hall Coordinator is the Resident Advisor's immediate supervisor. The Residence Life Resident Advisor is expected to fulfill the following general roles and responsibilities:
Community Facilitator:
Be available, and visible to residents, know names ofresidents, build relationships with members of their floor, address community conflicts,encourage personal responsibilities, hold floor meetings as appropriate to shareinformation, and help create a welcoming environment.
Referral Agent:
Know Hall, campus, and Greenville resources to connect residents asappropriate, keep the supervisor informed with floor/resident happenings, documentincidents and follow protocols set out via training and the staff manual, and know whensituations are beyond scope and refer up.
Team Member:
Attend all training sessions and staff meetings and staff developments,support staff team, help when needed, maintain positive communication with staff and allCampus Living employees, assist with RA recruitment, and support Campus Livingevents.
Programmer:
Produce programs to help connect residents and educate on varioustopics, complete appropriate paperwork, meet program requirements set by thedepartment, and support Residence Hall Association and Hall Involvement Teams
Administrator:
Complete all necessary paperwork/forms/evaluations/tasks as requiredby department and Hall Coordinator, attend staff meetings and 1 on 1's, serve onAvailable RA rotation, help with Hall Closings/Openings/Special Events, and know thestaff manual protocols.
University Representative:
Serve as a positive role model, serve the needs of residents, be mindful of social media tags/posts, and represent CL and ECU positively on- and offcampus.
Safety/Security Agent:
Serve on Available RA rotation, maintain confidentiality asappropriate, ensure that the building is secure, participate in fire drills/alarms, manageconflicts, address policy violations and document situations as appropriate. - Current GPA 2.5 or greater
- Good Standing with student conduct
- 1 semester (or 4 months) of community living or minimum of 4 months living in a military barracks or equivalent Community living is defined as residing in a shared residential environment where individuals live alongside and regularly interact with a community of peers, such as a college/university residence hall, military barracks, or comparable structured group-living setting.

- Living Learning Communities (LLCs) and Themed Engagement Communities (TECs) are designed to support students in their transition to a larger university by providing a smaller, more personal community within the residence halls.
LLC/TEC RAs work closely with the Hall Coordinator, academic partners, and other university staff to create an engaging residential environment that supports the mission and goals of their specific community. Students who reside in an LLC or TEC share a common interest, academic focus, or experience and take at least one class together during the fall semester. RAs serving these communities play an important role in connecting students with one another, supporting community-specific programming, and helping residents engage with the academic and social opportunities available to them.
