Job Description
The Resident Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the motel while living on the property. This position ensures exceptional guest service, efficient hotel operations, property maintenance, staff supervision, and compliance with Motel 6 brand standards. The Resident Manager serves as the primary point of contact for guests and employees and is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and profitable operation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Guest Services Provide outstanding customer service to all guests. Resolve guest concerns, complaints, and special requests promptly and professionally. Ensure a welcoming, clean, and comfortable environment for guests. Monitor guest satisfaction and address issues before they escalate. Front Desk Operations Oversee check-in and check-out procedures. Ensure accurate reservations, billing, and cash handling. Manage room inventory and occupancy. Review daily reports and ensure accurate recordkeeping. Property Management Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and common areas. Ensure the property meets cleanliness and safety standards. Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance. Respond to maintenance emergencies as needed. Housekeeping & Maintenance Supervise housekeeping and maintenance staff. Ensure rooms are cleaned according to company standards. Monitor inventory of linens, cleaning supplies, and maintenance materials. Schedule routine maintenance to minimize guest disruptions. Staff Management Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate employees. Prepare work schedules and ensure adequate staffing. Foster a positive and productive work environment. Ensure employees comply with company policies and procedures. Financial Responsibilities Monitor daily revenue and expenses. Prepare deposits and maintain accurate financial records. Assist with budgeting and cost control. Monitor payroll and labor costs. Safety & Security Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations. Respond appropriately to emergencies and security incidents. Enforce motel policies and procedures. Maintain guest confidentiality and secure handling of records. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous hotel, motel, hospitality, or property management experience preferred. Supervisory or management experience preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills. Basic computer proficiency and experience with hotel property management systems is preferred. Ability to multitask and work independently. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements Walk the property regularly. Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Stand for extended periods. Respond to emergencies at any time while on duty. Work Environment Live on-site in manager-provided accommodations. Be available to respond to operational issues and emergencies outside normal business hours. Work in both office and outdoor environments.
