Recruits and screens tenants for apartments, collects rents and security deposits, responds to requests or complaints from tenants, supervises maintenance and repairs; oversees payment of bills, insurance, taxes and recordkeeping. Manages property and services on behalf of a community association, for properties such as condominiums or cooperatives. Collects fees or dues, responds to requests or complaints, supervises maintenance, oversees work done by contractors, and provides accounting of income and expenses. May also assist owners or a board of directors with regulatory compliance or compliance with community association rules. Manages the operation of commercial or residential properties. Oversees the collection of rents and payment of bills, taxes and insurance for properties, and provides property owners with reports on finances and the status of properties. Directs leasing operations, or equipment and machinery rentals, for a company or business. Determines charges and prepares rental or lease agreements; supervises inventory, equipment maintenance and recordkeeping for leasing operations.

This community will be made up of 80 multi family tax credit units. Site will be delivered January 1st, 2027-but looking to bring a Manager on board now to begin lease up preparations. Habitat America, LLC is largely based in the Mid-Atlantic region. The Property Manager is the face of any property and therefore it is imperative that candidates are trustworthy, have excellent customer service skills, written and oral communications skills and an attention to detail. Responsibilities include leasing and marketing, compliance, operations, resident relations and staff management. To be considered for this position, candidates must have least 3+ years of prior property management experience as a tax credit Community Manager. TCS and other like certifications are strongly preferred. The candidate for this position must possess an upbeat demeanor and can do attitude. Affordable housing experience required for this role. The job requirements for the HUD/Tax Credit Community Manager at Habitat America are: 3+ years experience as a Tax Credit Property Manager Lease up experience desired! Tax Credit file/compliance experience required Tax Credit Specialist (TCS) or like certification is a plus Must have excellent communications skills and customer service skills Must be able to work independently, and still be able to take directions given. Yardi software experience is a plus! Experience with reviewing monthly operating statements for accuracy, budget to actual variances and bottom line cash flow control. Ability to produce reports and monthly financials in an accurate and timely fashion. Experience with certifying and re-certifying resident income in strict adherence to agency regulations, where applicable.
