Job Description
Full-Time $22-$25/hour PTO Paid Holidays Health Care Stipend This position provides services at Ben's House and is employed, supervised, and supported by Journey to Recovery Community Center as part of the JTRCC team. Position Summary The Peer Support Specialist uses lived experience and personal recovery to provide encouragement, hope, and support to men working toward recovery and independence. This position helps residents build confidence, develop healthy connections, navigate community resources, and work toward their personal goals. Responsibilities
- Provide peer support, encouragement, and mentorship.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with residents.
- Support residents in developing recovery and life goals.
- Share lived experience appropriately to inspire hope.
- Connect residents with community resources and services.
- Encourage healthy routines, self-advocacy, and personal responsibility.
- Support recovery-oriented activities and programming.
- Collaborate with case managers, residential staff, and the JTRCC team. Qualifications
- Personal lived experience in recovery.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Compassionate, dependable, and committed to supporting others.
- Recovery Coach certification or willingness to obtain it (preferred).
