We're looking for an experienced HVAC Service Manager to lead our growing HVAC service operation. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to build great teams, improve technician performance, drive profitable growth, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Total earning potential:
$110,000 - $170,000+ annually, based on experience and performance. What You'll Do Lead the day-to-day operations of the HVAC service department. Lead, coach, and develop HVAC technicians and apprentices. Build a high-performing service team focused on quality, productivity, customer satisfaction, and growth. Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and retain top HVAC talent. Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance, safety, quality, and customer service. Monitor key performance indicators including revenue, close rate, average ticket, productivity, callbacks, and customer satisfaction. Analyze department performance and implement strategies to improve efficiency, profitability, and technician performance. Conduct regular ride-alongs, field coaching, one-on-one meetings, and team meetings. Provide leadership and technical support to technicians when challenging service calls or customer situations arise. Partner closely with dispatch, customer service, sales, installation, and company leadership to maximize scheduling efficiency and overall customer experience. Champion a strong service and sales culture focused on finding the right solutions for customers. Handle escalated customer concerns and ensure issues are resolved professionally and effectively. Ensure all work is completed safely, professionally, and in accordance with company standards, Washington requirements, and industry best practices. Oversee department resources including vehicles, tools, equipment, inventory, and other operational needs. Identify opportunities to improve processes, training, customer retention, and overall department performance. Help develop and implement strategies to support continued HVAC growth across the Seattle and Puget Sound markets. What We're Looking For 5+ years of residential HVAC experience, with leadership or management experience. Proven experience leading HVAC service technicians or a residential HVAC service department. Strong understanding of residential HVAC systems, service practices, and industry standards. Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and motivate technicians. Strong business acumen with experience managing KPIs, revenue, productivity, and profitability. Experience recruiting, hiring, training, and retaining HVAC professionals. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with field and office teams. Ability to create accountability while maintaining a positive and motivating team culture. Customer-first mindset with a strong commitment to quality and professionalism. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
