Job Description
House Manager - Residential Leadership Role Keyser, WV We operate under a trauma-informed, team-centered model focused on creating safe, structured environments where youth can heal and grow: Staff are coached and developed—not just supervised Behavior is understood through a trauma-informed lens Safety and structure are built intentionally Leadership is present, accountable, and consistent You will lead a residential unit while developing staff, strengthening systems, and improving outcomes for youth in care. Program & Unit Leadership Oversee daily operations of a residential living unit Ensure treatment plans and daily programming are implemented consistently Maintain structure across schedules, activities, meals, and routines Monitor documentation, reports, and overall unit performance Staff Supervision & Development Supervise and support Treatment Associates Provide coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations Train new staff and ensure ongoing development Manage scheduling, coverage, and accountability Program Quality & Compliance Ensure compliance with Medicaid documentation standards and agency policies Identify program risks and implement solutions Support audits, accreditation, and regulatory requirements Maintain accurate records including incident reports, medication logs, and daily notes Crisis & 24/7 Leadership Respond to emergencies and crisis situations as needed Provide or direct crisis stabilization and intervention Support a 24/7 care environment, including on-call responsibilities Operations & Coordination Manage house budget and purchasing processes Coordinate staffing, hiring, and onboarding Ensure unit cleanliness, maintenance, and organization Step into direct care roles when needed to maintain coverage Compensation $35,280.00 - $45,864.00 Full benefits package Relevant education and experience may be considered when determining compensation This is a nonprofit leadership role—but one that offers: Meaningful impact on youth and families Real leadership responsibility Professional growth and development This Role Is Right If You… Are a strong leader who can develop and hold staff accountable Thrive in fast-paced, high-responsibility environments Are passionate about trauma-informed care and youth services This Role Is NOT Right If You… Prefer highly structured, low-decision roles Avoid conflict, accountability, or leadership responsibility Are not comfortable responding to crisis situations What You Need High school diploma required Experience in social services, youth work, or residential programming preferred Supervisory experience preferred Valid driver's license required Strong skills in: Leadership and team development Communication and documentation Organization and decision-making Crisis response and problem-solving Core Values Collaboration Respect & Dignity Empathy Accountability Trustworthiness Excellence BUMFS Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Experience:
Experience in Social Service field, youth work, counseling, residential programming and supervisory experience preferred Core competenciesRequired:
Be comfortable and effective in implementing the program including Medicaid services such as Daily Living Skills and Behavioral Support. Must possess managerial, supervisory and leadership skills. A team builder who inspires staff to work together in pursuit of a common mission, with the ability to hold them accountable for the accomplishments of the objectives. Ability to interact with staff having diverse education, experience, and culturally diverse backgrounds. Ability to perform under pressure; handle and appreciate conflicting opinions with the highest level of confidentiality and discretion. Possess strong communication skills both verbal and written. Should have exceptional organizational skills; and proficient computer skills. Be able to make decisions consistent with agency policies and general philosophies around child development, childhood trauma, mental health, and creating safe spaces for healing. Be in good health, have physical and emotional stamina necessary to implement physical interventions with assaultive or self-injurious residents. Be an acceptable role model for youth in values and lifestyles in keeping with those ascribed by Burlington.
