Responsible for responding to emergency and non-emergency calls for law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services. Identifies and dispatches appropriate public safety units while complying with established policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all public safety responders and the public. The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator and able to remain calm and composed, especially in emergency situations. The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task, as well as take appropriate action with little-to-no supervision. The goal of the public safety telecommunicator is to ensure the accurate and timely transmission of information.
