$18.00 - $23.00 / hour About the Role We are seeking a compassionate, precise, and highly organized Cemetery Administrator to manage daily office operations, burial record-keeping, and family coordination. In this position, you will serve as the primary administrative link between grieving families, funeral directors, and our grounds staff. You will oversee deed transfers, process sales contracts, update historical and digital mapping databases, and ensure full compliance with state and federal burial regulations.
Key Responsibilities Records & Mapping Management:
Maintain accurate, legally binding physical and digital burial records, ownership deeds, plot maps, and interment rights databases (e.g., CIMS, CemSite, or GIS mapping software).
Family & Funeral Coordination:
Serve as the main point of contact for families, scheduled visitors, and funeral home directors. Research ancestral burial locations, and coordinate scheduled committal services with grounds crews.
Contract & Financial Administration:
Prepare and process purchase agreements, burial permits, marker orders, and deed transfers. Issue invoices, record payments, manage trust accounts, and maintain accurate financial logs.
Office & Customer Service Operations:
Manage incoming calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries with high empathy, professionalism, and discretion.
Qualifications Experience:
Administrative experience in cemetery operations, funeral services, municipal government, or medical/legal office administration preferred.
Skills:
High proficiency with database management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace. Experience with cemetery software (CIMS, Pontem, HMIS) or GIS maps is a strong plus. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with extreme compassion, tact, and patience. Meticulous attention to detail regarding legal contracts, genealogical research, and mapping coordinates. Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
Pay:
$18.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 - 30.0 per week
