Job Duties What You'll Do:

ODH's Bureau of Health Improvement and Wellness (BHIW) is seeking one (1) Epidemiology Investigation Supervisor to lead chronic disease epidemiology and surveillance activities, manage studies and data systems, and oversee the development of public health data products. The role includes supervision, strategic planning, and collaboration with internal and external partners.

Primary Duties:
  • Plan, implement, and manage chronic disease epidemiology and surveillance programs.
  • Lead epidemiologic studies, surveys, field investigations, and program evaluations.
  • Direct data analysis, data quality, confidentiality, and compliance with state and federal standards.
  • Supervise and train epidemiology staff; assign work, evaluate performance, and support development.
  • Produce and oversee reports, dashboards, fact sheets, grant deliverables, and evaluation documents.
  • Participate in strategic planning, statewide health assessments, and development of goals and performance measures.
  • Serve as liaison with ODH units, CDC, local health departments, and community groups.
  • Respond to public inquiries, prepare correspondence, and deliver presentations.

Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (Flexible Schedule). This is an exempt hourly position, with a pay range of 14 on the E1 Exempt Pay Range Schedule . Qualifications Position Qualifications Completion of graduate core program in public health or preventive medicine AND 12 mos. exp. in epidemiology investigation with local or federal health agency which included 6 mos. exp. performing duties comparable with duties of Epidemiology Investigator 3, 65763. OR 6 mos. exp. as Epidemiology Investigator 3, 65763. OR Alternative, equivalent evidence of the Minimum Class Qualifications noted above.

Supplemental Information Supplemental Information All answers to the supplemental questions must be supported by the work experience/education provided on your civil service application. Unless required by legislation, the selected candidate will begin at Pay Grade 14, Step 1 of the Exempt Pay Range Schedule ($40.40 per hour), with an opportunity for pay increase after six months ($42.70) of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
