Job Description
Job Summary Barber County is seeking a Communications Director to manage and oversee the Barber County Emergency Communications Center operations and personnel. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day to day operations in dispatch
- Maintain adequate staff and manage department scheduling and training
- Review and maintain all certification and training files
- Responsible for department compliance with the policies, procedures, rules and regulations of NCIC, KCJIS, CJIS, KDOR, and NLETS
- Manage departmental budget and expenditures
- Develop and implement departmental policies and protocols Required Qualifications
- Possess considerable knowledge of the equipment, procedures, and systems used in public safety telecommunications
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding employee and law enforcement matters
- Ability to think clearly and remain calm during stressful situations while selecting a logical, proficient, and tactical course of action Preferred Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience
