Exempt | Full-Time Position Summary The Director of Adult Services provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and administrative management for state-funded programs serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This role directly oversees Department of Developmental Services (DDS) contracts, including Group Homes and Independent Living Services (ILS). The Director ensures person-centered care, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, fiscal sustainability, and staff development across all residential and community-based contracts. Key Responsibilities 1. Operational & Programmatic Leadership Oversee day-to-day operations of all DDS-funded residential group homes and Independent Living Services (ILS) programs. Ensure person-centered planning principles are integrated into Individualized Support Plans (ISPs) and daily care models. Monitor service delivery to ensure participants achieve personal goals, community integration, and maximum independence. Serve as the primary liaison between the agency, state funding bodies (DDS), regional centers, family members, and community stakeholders. 2. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance Maintain full compliance with DDS regulations, state licensing requirements, local health/safety codes, and agency policies. Lead state audit preparations, licensures, and survey visits; execute corrective action plans when needed. Oversee incident reporting systems (e.g., critical incidents, human rights committee reviews, and state reporting portals) to ensure timely resolution and investigation. Monitor health, safety, medication administration (MAP), and clinical protocols across residential and ILS sites. 3. Financial & Contract Management Manage program budgets, revenue allocations, site expenditures, and DDS billing authorization processes. Oversee utilization reviews to ensure contracted service hours (residential and ILS) are accurately tracked and billed. Assist in writing grant proposals, re-contracting applications, and response-to-RFP packages for program expansion. 4. Staff Management & Development Directly supervise Program Managers, Residential Supervisors, and ILS Coordinators; indirectly oversee Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). Lead recruitment, hiring, onboarding, performance evaluation, and retention strategies for program staff. Ensure all team members complete required DDS certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, PBS, Human Rights, CPPD, Fire Safety and others).
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Special Education, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership/supervisory experience in human services, specifically supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Demonstrated experience managing state-funded contracts (specifically DDS) and operating both residential (24/7) and independent living/outreach programs.
Certifications:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; current CPR/First Aid certification/MAP certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)

Pay:
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
