  • Position Overview:
  • The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro North are seeking an experienced, motivated, and dedicated PreK Director to lead and develop our after school early childhood programs.
This role requires an EEC Director I Qualification, that will be used in our Preschool after-school program as well as passion for creating high-quality, engaging preschool enrichment programs. As a key part of our team, the Director will work collaboratively to develop and oversee programs that foster the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children ages 2-5 in a safe and inclusive environment. This is a year-round position that operates programs Monday
  • Friday 2pm-6pm with additional Wednesday half days throughout the school year. Programs also run during the summer and school vacation weeks. This position can be full time (40 hours per week) or part time benefits eligible (32 hours per week).
  • Responsibilities:
  • Program Leadership:
  • Develop, implement, and oversee enriching early learning and preschool programs to meet the developmental needs of children.
  • Teaching:
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to promote learning, including play and interactive activities; supervise children by sight and sound; address behavioral issues promptly; foster positive relationships with children; establish and enforce rules and procedures to maintain a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
  • Curriculum Development:
  • Design and deliver curriculum aligned with Massachusetts EEC standards, focusing on age-appropriate learning in language, literacy, numeracy, physical development, and social-emotional skills.
  • Team Management:
  • Supervise, mentor, and support early childhood staff to maintain a positive and effective team environment.
  • Compliance & Licensing:
  • Ensure programs are in compliance with all EEC licensing regulations and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children and staff.
  • Family Engagement:
  • Foster strong, positive relationships with families, providing regular communication and creating opportunities for parent engagement and involvement.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Assess program outcomes, implement improvements, and provide training and development for staff to ensure high standards of early childhood education.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Oversee enrollment processes, maintain accurate records, manage budgets, and collaborate with Boys & Girls Club leadership to align with organizational goals.
  • Qualifications:
  • EEC Director I Qualification
  • is required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in early childhood education, with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of Massachusetts EEC licensing regulations and best practices in early learning.
  • Must successfully complete a CORI and background check in accordance with Massachusetts state regulations for youth-serving organizations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm and professional in all situations.
  • Passion for creating a supportive, enriching environment for young children.
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable, with the ability to serve as a positive role model.
  • Must be able to work until 6pm.
